Ping g15 irons at Omega world cup
At the just-ended Omega Mission Hills World Cup, American team beat the strong-finishing England and Germany to get the final victory. It is said that it’s the first time for American getting the world cup since Tiger Woods in this team won this title in 2000. It’s not so hard to find that in such tour competition more and more players choose the Ping G15 Irons for their better swing game. That must have reasons, and the reasons must be stated as follows.
This ping golf clubs have used the 'floating' Custom Tuning Port (CTP) to move more mass to the perimeter and increase MOI. Weight removed from the thin, light clubface is redistributed to the toe for added forgiveness. A wider sole contributes to higher launching shots. Stronger lofts should lead to longer shots. A thinner clubface (by 5 grams) is said to increase ball speed, 1-2 mph faster equals 3-6 yards longer carry than the G10 iron. Strong lofts take full advantage of these high-launch characteristics for max carry.
The most distinctive feature of the G15 line has to be the forgiveness. They are said to be one of the most forgiving iron they have made. I would say that is probably true. The whole face was hot and the sweet spot was huge. The generous off-set helped square up the face at impact for the average golfer, but Ping balanced that off-set with that huge weight in the toe. I was surprised that the G15 stock had a fade bias with those additional 7grams on the toe. If you fight the fade already, don’t cast these clubs aside, just get them swingweighted at D2 or heavier. That addition weight used for swingweighting in the hosel will balance out that toe weight for one of the straightest easiest hitting irons on the market.
To look at G15 Irons as a whole, they simply are an exceptional addition to the market from ping. In my opinion even good players could benefit from these clubs, not just mid to higher handicappers. These clubs are that good that we'd recommend the G15s to any player to try out. They are a little pricy at the local market, but this can be settled at the online Golf Clubs For Sale shop.
