Stream MKV Videos from NETGEAR ReadyNAS to Motorola Xoom with Skifta Streamer via DLNA
Using the ReadyNAS for file sharing and backups, you already know the convenience of having a low-power-consuming, always on, easily accessible sharable device on your network.I have many MKV movies/videos and plan to store them on my NETGEAR ReadyNAS Duo RND2000 NAS. I have been hoping to stream these MKV movies from NAS to my android 3.0 honeycomb internet tablet Motorola Xoom. After searching on Google and some guys pointed me in right direction. The following content is my shared steps to send MKV videos to DLNA certified Xoom via DLNA tech in wirelessly streaming way.
The steps you need to do:
Part 1: Convert MKV videos to H. 264 MP4 Xoom videos and put them onto NETGEAR ReadyNAS.
Part 2: Connect NAS and Xoom to the same home network server.
Part 3: Streaming videos from NAS to Xoom via installing Skitfa android media DLNA app.

Part One:

Connect Motorola Xoom Android 3.0 honeycomb table to network over the wifi. Your tablet uses the mobile network (over the air) or a Wi-Fi connection to access the web.
To use a wireless network, touch Apps > Settings > Wireless & networks, touch Wi-Fi to turn on Wi-Fi. Touch Wi-Fi settings to search for nearby wireless networks, and touch a network to connect.
Now it is ready to start streaming media files including Video, music and pictures from NETGEAR ReadyNAS NAS to Motorola Xoom via DLNA streaming tech.
