Convert DVD to WMV for some mobile devices
When we bought mobile devices such as Zune, Crentive Zen, Xbox 360,Dell Player, and want to get some DVD Movies onto them, even want to get one chapter off them which is our favorite one onto Mobile Devices, how can we do that and which formats we could choose? Convert DVD to MP4? Convert DVD to WMV? Or other formats? Convert DVD to WMV, the WMV is better one.
Part one: Some knowledge about WMV
First of all, WMV is launched by Microsoft, it's a very popular streaming media format, is of high quality video, large amount of compression, so it is suitable for online playback and transmission.
Another, a lot of mobile devices that support the WMV video format, such as Zune, Crentive Zen, Xbox 360, Dell Player, HP IPAQ, Pocket PC, iRiver and so forth.
Again, the Windows Media Player (WMP) does not support the current format of the VOB file, if we Convert DVD to WMV, it can do that very well.
Part two: Which software or tools can help us do that?
I use http://www.google.com to search for some Convert DVD to WMV, and download, try to use them; they are iSkysoft DVD Ripper, Imtoo DVD to WMV converter, DVDZip. These DVD to WMV Converters all can convert DVD to WMV, support WMV conversion, and you can select a better one for your needs.
1. iSkysoft DVD Ripper
Key functions:
(1). Directly convert DVD into popular video/audio formats (MP4, WMV, AVI, FLV, MOV, 3GP, WMA, M4A, and MP3 etc) with high quality.
(2). Select chapters to rip, can crop, trim video, adjust video effect as you want, very powerful Edit function.
(3). Capture any picture from video and save as jpeg or bmp format.
(4). Enjoy your favorite DVD movies freely on Zune, Pocket PC, iRiver, Creative Zen, Xbox 360, etc by the format of WMV.
2. IMtoo DVD to WMV converter
Key functions:
(1). Convert DVD-video into only WMV and convert DVD to WMV at one time, so can’t rip one chapter as you want;
(2). simply audio and video settings, such as quality, sample rate, channel, and split mode, to meet different needs.
3. DVDZip
Key functions:
(1). Copy DVD to VCD, SVCD, mpeg, WMV, RMVB files, DVD to AVI, DVD to MP4, DVD to MOV, DVD to FLV, convert DVD to DIVX ( but not with high quality)
(2). Select chapters to copy and select audio volume, frequency, or whether enable Dolby Surround
(3). Can rip from specified starting time and ending time
3. In Conclusion:
iSkysoft DVD Ripper can Convert DVD to WMV, convert any one chapter DVD movies to WMV, and can Crop, Trim, Adjust DVD Movies to WMV and its conversion quality is very high, although it’s not a professional WMV Converter, many people use it. Imtoo DVD to WMV Converter only can convert DVD to WMV, and simply settings, and you can’t select one chapter to rip, can’t edit the DVD movie, if your requirement is very less, it’s a good choice. DVDZip is also a DVD Ripper, can copy DVD to many formats, and can rip specified chapter, but its edit function is not very powerful and the conversion quality is not very high.

Downloaded, found this iskysoft can also convert dvd to other video formats and audio formats which can be played by iPod, PSP, mobile phone and other portable player , thx.

Hi again, I guess most of you already know it, but i still want to share windows movie maker with someone( a beginer that want to make videos just like me). It is really a good tool. Want to know more and start using it, you may visit microsoft's website.
