GLENDALE, Ariz. Brian Dawkins Broncos Jersey . -- For a change, the Arizona Cardinals were the ones taking advantage of the mistakes of others. The Cardinals turned four turnovers by Detroit into touchdowns, including Greg Tolers 102-yard interception return -- the longest in franchise history -- to beat the Lions 38-10 on Sunday and end a nine-game losing streak. Arizonas first victory in 2 1/2 months came a week after a 58-0 loss in Seattle, the most one-sided defeat in the long history of the Cardinals franchise. It was the Cardinals first win since beating Miami on Sept. 30, and it sent the Lions to their sixth straight loss. The Cardinals (5-9) intercepted Matthew Stafford three times, returning two of them for scores and setting up a TD with the other. Rashad Johnson brought back a pick 53 yards for a touchdown to cap Arizonas 21-point second quarter. Patrick Petersons seventh interception of the season set up another score. "Thats about as bad as I can play," Stafford said. Another TD by Arizona came after Detroit (4-10) muffed a punt. Detroits Calvin Johnson became the first player in NFL history with consecutive 1,600-yard receiving seasons and tied an NFL record with his seventh straight 100-yard receiving game. Johnson caught 10 passes for 121 yards. With two games to play, he needs 182 yards to break Jerry Rices NFL single-season record of 1,848 set 17 years ago. Johnsons 3,348 yards receiving in the past two seasons are NFL record for consecutive years, one more than Rices total in 1994-95. But Johnsons big numbers were the only bright spots on an afternoon when the Lions season turned from bad to worse. Coach Jim Schwartz, whose team made the playoffs a year ago, was "as mad as Ive been for a long time." "This team, the Cardinals, they lost a game last week because of turnovers, because of eight turnovers," Schwartz said. "We went into the game wanting to take care of the football, wanting to establish the run. We did a poor job of both of those." Arizonas Beanie Wells had touchdown runs of 5, 1 and 31 yards. The Cardinals, who avoided tying the franchise record for consecutive losses in the season, had gone 11 quarters without a touchdown before getting three of them in the second quarter Sunday. "There was a lot of talk about if our team had quit," Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt said. "When it was 7-0 (Detroit) and we were punting the ball there, I didnt see any quit in our guys." On that punt, the return man Stefan Logan, trying to make a fair catch, had his feet knocked out from under him by teammate Pat Lee, who was trying to block Michael Adams. Adams chased the ball down at the Detroit 5, and Wells scored on the next play up the middle to tie it at 7 with 9:18 left in the half. Two possessions later, a pair of false-start penalties pushed the Lions back to their 2-yard line. Stafford overthrew Johnson, and Peterson made a leaping interception, falling to his backside after he caught the ball. He scrambled to his feet and returned 29 yards to the Detroit 3. Two plays later, Wells scored from the 1 and the Lions led 14-7. After a pair of incompletions and a false start, the Lions had it third-and-15 from their 43 when Stafford threw in the direction of Tony Scheffler. Rashad Johnson saw it all the way, intercepting it and running down the right sideline for the score to make it 21-7 with 30 seconds left in the half. Jay Feelys 51-yard field goal that made it 24-7 with 9:19 left in the third quarter, then five minutes later Jason Hansons 41-yarder cut the lead to 24-10. A 30-yard pass to Calvin Johnson highlighted a drive that had Detroit threatening to cut the lead to a touchdown in the final quarter. A delay of game penalty negated a TD pass, then on fourth-and-2 from the 4, Staffords pass into the end zone went right into the arms of Toler, who with a brigade of blockers ran the length of the field for the score that made it 31-10 with 5:07 to play. "I knew Greg was going to make it all the way," Peterson said, laughing. "He had no one in front of him but Matthew Stafford and five Cardinals, so if he didnt make it, that definitely would have been a shame." The Cardinals added a final touchdown on Wells 31-yard run after the Lions had given the ball up on downs. Arizona managed just 196 yards of offence, but scored its most points of the season. The rookie Lindley, in his third NFL start, was 14 of 21 for 104 yards and one interception. Stafford, whose offence entered the game ranked second in the NFL, was 24 of 50 for 246 yards, his second-fewest of the season. He threw for 230 in a loss to San Francisco in week two. The Lions had blown double-digit leads in their last three games, tying an NFL record. They barely scored in double digits in this one. Notes: With a fourth-quarter sack, Arizonas Adrian Wilson became the sixth player in NFL history with 25 sacks and 25 interceptions. ... Hanson tied Morten Andersen for most field goals of at least 40 yards (187). ... 91-year-old Charley Trippi, a star on the Cardinals 1947 NFL championship team, was honoured at halftime. Trippi, who played for the Cardinals from 1947 to 1955, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1968. ... Detroit cornerback Jacob Lacy left in the first quarter with a knee injury. ... Arizona improved to 4-3 at home. Tracy Porter Jersey . They wont have the same opportunity with Robert Griffin III. General manager Ryan Grigson said Monday the Colts plan to bring Luck to Indianapolis for an individual workout during the next couple of weeks. Von Miller Elite Jersey . Louis Blues on Tuesday night. At one end of the ice, the Canadiens fans cheered their former beloved goaltender Jaroslav Halak, who earned a shutout against his old club. http://www.nfldenverbroncosfans.com/peyton-manning-jersey . -- The Oakland Raiders had something more meaningful to celebrate on Monday than their first win under a new regime. Dennis Smith Womens Jersey . The Alouettes (11-6), who have locked up first place in the CFL East Division, announced their plans on Tuesday. McPherson completed only two of five passes for two yards this season, but one was for a touchdown. Champ Bailey Black Jersey . Man United headed to Durban in South Africa to play AmaZulu FC on Wednesday night before going up against Ajax Cape Town on Saturday. United will then fly to China to face Didier Drogbas new side, Shanghai Shenhua, on July 25.CHICAGO -- Lance Briggs envisions big things for the Chicago Bears this coming season. The Pro Bowl linebacker said it "definitely could be" the best team hes played on after sweeping changes during the off-season that sent expectations soaring. They believe they are a contender, that theyre right there with Green Bay and Detroit in the NFC North. The word "championship" has even been bandied about. "Weve been doing that ever since Lovie (Smith) became the head coach," Briggs said in a telephone interview Tuesday. "It was to never forget the ultimate goal." Hes not quite ready to plan a parade, though. On Tuesday, Briggs was promoting the New Era caps that players will wear for the first time during games. Hes one of the companys two ambassadors, along with Buffalos Marcell Dareus. In about a month, hell report to training camp in Bourbonnais, Ill. "Im going to enjoy every practice," he said. "Im going to enjoy long, boring meetings. You dont get to do this forever." Briggs believes the Bears can accomplish something special even though they "still have a lot of hard work to do." Its not hard to see why hes optimistic, given the changes they made after a disappointing 8-8 finish. They unraveled late last year with Jay Cutler and then Matt Forte suffering season-ending injuries, spoiling what was shaping up as another playoff run for a team that reached the NFC title game the previous season. The freefall cost general manager Jerry Angelo his job, setting in motion one of the most active offseasons in recent memory. Phil Emery replaced him and quickly went to work reshaping the roster. The biggest move was acquiring Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall from Miami, giving Cutler a go-to target for the first time since he arrived from Denver. Even better, its someone he knows well. He and Marshall put up big numbers when they teamed with the Broncos, particularly in 2008. Marshall earned the first of three Pro Bowl invitations in 2008 after finishing with more than 1,200 yards receiving for thee second straight year. Champ Bailey Youth Jersey. Cutler had his most productive season with a career-high 4,526 yards in his final season there, and the offence ranked second that year. The Bears also filled a need at backup quarterback by bringing in Jason Campbell and added depth at running back with Michael Bush, not to mention insurance if Forte holds out. He still hasnt signed his $7.74 million tender after being slapped with the franchise player tag and has a July 16 deadline to agree to a multi-year contract with more guaranteed money. A holdout remains a possibility. "Matt accounts for a lot of what our offence is," said Briggs, who renegotiated his contract in the spring and has been vocal in his support for Forte. "I hope that the deal gets done before training camp. I hope that he gets his long-term deal, gets paid like the elite running back that he is. Its going to help us win. You throw to a player like Brandon Marshall and you have a guy like Matt Forte ... theyre both very dangerous." He called Marshall a "home run hitter" who can go deep or turn shorter passes into big gains. Briggs sees the potential for an explosive offence, and he believes the defence will no longer have to shoulder the burden. Even so, there are some lingering questions. Whether the offensive line can hold up remains to be seen, although the Bears believe that unit will be put in more of a position to succeed with Mike Tice replacing the departed Mike Martz as co-ordinator. The defensive line also is an issue. The Bears drafted Shea McClellin with the 19th pick, hoping he can cause havoc and help take some of the load off Julius Peppers after Chicago tied for 19th in the league with 33 sacks. Age could also be a factor on defence, with Briggs, Peppers, Brian Urlacher and Charles Tillman all in their 30s. Then again, Briggs just made his seventh straight Pro Bowl. Urlacher got picked for the eighth time last season, and Tillman made it for the first time. "Were playing the best football that weve played," Briggs said. ' ' '
