If you have read the "Golf Digest", you must know that the Callaway's Big Bertha line earned top ratings on the "Golf Digest" 2008 Hot List for the hybridization of its 3-, 4- and 5-irons. Reviewers noted the width of the face and the loft potential of the clubs, which were also available in a traditional offset head for those unprepared for such a change.
Jeff Colton, Senior VP of Research and Development at Callaway Golf described the callaway big bertha irons with their Tunite creation as "denser than steel and the forgiveness of the Big Bertha Iron built in".
Colton went on to say that the big bertha irons were developed "for the golfer who has trouble getting the ball into the air, with an easy, wide sole, just about forgiveness"
.
A club's lie angle refers to the degree to which the toe is pointed up or down, and taller golfers typically need more upright lie angles. The big bertha callaway irons have more upright lie angles than those of the Ping G10 irons.
Swing weight is a measure of the club's total weight, combined with the balance point of the shaft. Differences in swing weight can produce changes in the feel of the club throughout the swing. Callaway Big Bertha irons have slightly larger swing weights, leading to a feeling of more weight in the clubhead. By the way, the callaway ft i-brid iron set can be found here.
