Some Final Cut Pro owners may have problem in import some .avi files into FCP for editing. However, not all the AVI files can't loaded into Final Cut. In order to make it fixed, learning more Final Cut Pro program is necessary.
FCP provides non-linear, non-destructive editing of any QuickTime compatible video format, ncluding H.264 or MPEG compression, depending on your needs, but can support limited file formats like MP4, DV, MOV, M4V, and some AVI files from Cameras. So if your source files are AVI, M2TS or MKV files, they can’t be accepted by Final Cut Pro, you may need to convert AVI to Final Cut Pro file format on Mac OSX (Lion OSX included).
