Place source Blu-ray disc in BD drive, or DVD in optical drive. Install and run the Pavtube Mac Blu-ray/DVD to Media Player Converter on your Mac. When the below interface pops up, click “BD/DVD Folder” to import Blu-ray or DVD movie.
Step 2. Specify an output folder to save BD or DVD movie.
Click “Browse” button and specify an output location. Make sure there is enough space for a whole BD movie (usually 25GB-50GB) when backing up Blu-ray disc to Mac.
Step 3. Back up Blu-ray/DVD for PLEX playback on Mac Mini HTPC.
Click on “Full Disc Copy” button to back up Blu-ray/ DVD movie to Mac. A 90 min. Blu-ray takes about 40 min to copy to Mac hard drive. After the process completes, you can get the final output files by clicking “Open” button.
The ripped Blu-ray directory contains two folders, “BDMV” and “CERTIFICATE”. The PLEX is able to play the M2TS files from Blu-ray directory. If you’d like to use other media player like VLC to play the M2TS streams, just follow “Disc Name”>> “BDMV”>> “STREAMS” to find uncompressed M2TS clips.
Tips and Tricks:
Jerky playback? Try the latest version of PLEX media center, as it has getting the GPU acceleration for playing Blu-ray files (as long as NVIDIA GeForce is integrated). If this doesn’t work, try shrinking the Blu-ray M2TS to 1080p DivX AVI/ MKV/MOV/MP4 with Pavtube Blu-Ray/DVD to Media Player Converter for Mac. The quality degradation is unconspicuous but with the file size down, the HD videos will be played back smoothly.
Wanna copy the M2TS/ VOB streams only without menus and ads? Make some changes in Step 3. Blu-ray Ripper with CUDA acceleration: how fast could it be?
Movie enthusiasts, you gotta try Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper v3.7 if you wanna accelerate the conversion speed when backing up BD collections to PC. I was so excited with the news that I performed a Blu-ray ripping process with CUDA vs. without CUDA test on my PC last night. Pavtube Studio claims 3X faster speed and 96min for ripping Avatar Blu-ray to 1080p MP4 on 4 cores PC with CUDA support (check for details here), well I do not own a fast PC and it took much longer to rip Inception BD… Anyway, the results revealed that it is actually 2.7 times faster when CUDA is enabled! Here’re more details:
Test environment
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium (R) Dual CPU E2140 @1.60GHz
Memory: 1022MB RAM
Drive: External Sony BD drive with USB 2.0 USB cable
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460, latest NVIDIA CUDA drivers installed
Operation System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Test tools and method
Source Media: Blu-ray Disc Inception
Software Tool: Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper v3.7.1.2290 trial version.
Test procedures
Step 1. Connect the external BD drive to PC, place in source Blu-ray Disc Inception. Ensure the desktop is networked. Install and launch the Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper v3.7 software (trial), click the BD icon to load Blu-ray Inception from BD drive.
Step 2. Select the main movie, click on the dropdown list of "Format", follow “HD Video” and select “MKV HD Video (*.mkv)” as output format. Click “Browse” to set a folder for saving converted H.264 MKV files.
Step 3. Click "Convert" button to start ripping Inception to hard drive, and take down the test data when conversion completes.
Step 4. Click “CUDA” icon to turn off GPU acceleration, and repeats Step 1 to Step 4.
Test results
It takes 16hrs (968mins) for ripping Inception Blu-ray to 1080p H.264 MKV with CUDA off comparing 6hrs (362mins) with CUDA on. Both of the conversions generate MKV file of 9.64GB. And both the file plays great in VLC Media Player. To conclude, the Blu-ray ripping speed is 2.67 times faster with CUDA enabled. I’ll call it an acceptable result for such a slow desktop. Hopefully the Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper can do better in future. Anyway, wish you luck with the implementation.

I like a lot and my kids use Soulver MathTime that develops and my son is a flashcard-style app for doing math fact drills. convert avi to mp4 on mac To be fair the $25 discount on the Kindle is 18% off of the $139 price. That same discount would make the entry level ipad around $409. That makes it more compelling but still not enough for me to consider. The implementation of this idea would be interesting on an ipad though. I imagine your lockscreen and maybe wallpaper would be a permanent billboard or something. That seems kind of tackey and I can't see this happening while Steve Jobs is around.
