PBS show 'Prohibition' will not act as rival to HBO's popular 'Boardwalk Empire': creator
BEVERLY HILLS - Ken Burns doesn't foresee any barroom brawls between his new PBS "Prohibition" series and HBO's "boardwalk empire dvd," a drama rooted in the whole Prohibition fiasco.
This, even though they will be in direct competition on Oct. 2, the first of three nights over which "Prohibition" will air.
"Prohibition" starts at 8 p.m. "boardwalk empire season 1 dvd," which launches its second season Sept. 25, runs at 9.
"I don't think HBO is worried and I know we aren't," Burns told TV reporters here. "There's plenty of interest for both shows."
Burns, himself, is a case in point. "I've really enjoyed 'boardwalk empire box set,'" he says. "I don't think I've missed an episode. HBO has done its homework."
Dance fever leaves him steamed
Bill T. Jones, the Tony-winning choreographer featured in a new PBS "boardwalk empire season 2 dvd" that runs in October, is no fan of dancing competition shows.
