The FS22 records in MOD/MPEG2. Windows Movie maker in Vista will edit MPEG2 natively. However, you may need Premium or Ultimate to use it that way.
As for using the Canon FS22 MOD video on windows, you could've easily used MOD Converter to transcode the footage into a more editable format, for instance,AVI,WMV,MPEG,MP4.
