It is possible to play Windows Media Video files(.WMV files) on a Apple Mac. Mac OS X does not come with any software that can play WMV files, but there is software you can convert WMV to MOV, AVI or MP4 for Playback on QuickTime, Now I recommend a Mac WMV Video Converter for you to solve all your WMV problems.
