Nikon��s newest full-frame camera D600 is aimed squarely at advanced amateurs who lust after an FX sensor, but don��t need all of the advanced features of the more expensive D800 or D4. It features a 24-megapixel CMOS sensor and can fire off full-resolution shots at an impressive 5.5 frames per second. Its ISO sensitivity ranges from 100 through 6400, but you can go as low as 50 or as high as 25600 in expanded mode.

The Nikon D600 recorded video is supported at up to 1080p30 or 720p60 in H.264 QuickTime format. It is a pity that H.264 MOV is not good editing format for some NLEs, like Final Cut Pro 6/7. So some users use Log and Transfer (Capture) to to import H.264 MOV recordings to FCP 6/7 for editing. The L&T is a transfer tool to help you transcode H.264 to a native codec like ProRes for FCP. But it often confuse the codecs, which can lead to the incompatible results. Thus, some users will meet the unsupported format issus when they importing. If your FCP can��t edit the MOV files from D600, what will do? Whether you want to convert H.264 to Apple ProRes, the best editable video format, for FCP 6/7? In this article, we will share the simplest way to make Nikon D600 H.264 MOV footages editable for FCP without rendering time.
Step 1. Download the trial of Nikon MOV to Apple ProRes Converter, install and run it on your Mac.

Step 2. Load D600 1080p MOV to the video converter. You can add one or more H.264 MOV files.
Step 3. Click the ��Format�� option, and navigate to the Final Cut Pro group,you will notice that there are profiles with Apple ProRes 422, Apple ProRes 422(HQ), Apple ProRes 422(LT), Apple ProRes 422(Proxy), Apple ProRes 4444. Here we choose Apple ProRes 422(HQ) (*.mov) as output format.
Note: FCP 6 only has the two types of ProRes 422 and ProRes 422 (HQ) codecs.
Step 4. Click ��Convert�� to start changing Nikon D600 1080p MOV to ProRes 422 for FCP. The conversion process can save your rendering time.
