With the HD videos shot by Panasonic HDC-TM700K, do you want to burn them to Blu-ray disc? The Panasonic HD Writer AE 2.1 is only compatible with Windows, and there are some free windows applications like ImgBurn, MultiAVCHD, StarBurn, BurnAware Free to burn videos to Blu-ray disc.
For Mac users, the BD burning process will be much more complicated. txMuxer is the only one free tool I find on Mac, but it only works on Leopard (no Snow Leopard). Another solution around is to use Apple Compressor, which is included in Final Cut Studio, and Adobe Encore CS3 or CS4, CS5. And you can burn 720/60p, 1080/60i or 1080/24p Blu-ray on Mac OS X. However, for the 1080/60p or 1080/50p 28Mbps MTS files shot by the Panasonic TM700 is not compatible with Mac application very well. Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac is the recommended Panasonic TM700 video converter for Mac users to convert TM700 60p or 50p HD videos to Adobe Compressor compatible .mov files on Mac OS X like ike Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard.
Follow the quick steps below to burn Panasonic TM700K 1080/60p MTS to Blu-ray on Mac Snow Leopard with external Blu-ray burner.
Step 1. Load Panasonic video to Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac.
After transferring .mts files from Panasonic TM700 memory card, run Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac as the one of the applications for burning Panasonic TM700 to Blu-ray Disc on Mac, and click the "Add" button to load 1080/60p or 1080/50p videos.
Step 2. Choose HD MOV format.
Click the "Format" option and navigate to HD Video > H.264 HD Video(*.mov) as output format, and click the "Settings" button to change the frame rate to to Blu-ray disc compatible 23.976. and Mac Panasonic TM700 video converter will transcode 1080/60p MTS to 1080/24p MOV.
Step 3. Convert Panasonic TM700 video to MOV for Apple Compressor.
Click the convert button under the preview window, and the conversion from Panasonic TM700 1080/60p MTS to 1080/24p MOV for Apple Compressor will start immediately, keeping the 5.1-channel surround sound.
Step 4. Load video to Apple Compressor.
Run Apple Compressor which is available with Final Cut Studio, and import the output MOV files. Use the preset profiles: MPEG-2 Program Stream with MPEG audio at 48kHz as video and Dolby Digital 5.1 as audio. Then choose Blu-ray for "Stream Usage" in Inspector windows.
Step 5. Load video to Adobe Encore.
Open Encore and import videos by choosing Import As > Asset. Create a menu for the Blu-ray disc, and bring video clips to timeline. Go to the Build tab and click the "Build" button to start encoding and burning media to the external Blu-ray Writer with a blank Blu-ray disk.
Burning to Blu-ray disc is much more expensive than burning to DVD. The Mac Panasonic TM700 video converter will help you handle the 1080/60p videos to import to Apple Compressor, Adobe Encore for burning to BD on Mac.
