As a professional camcorder, XF300 has made an good example for the XF series , it records vivid videos at 50mpbs with MPEG-2 compressing to Compact Flash (CF) cards, the image is unsurpassed with brilliant colors with little differences.

The fully-detailed video recorded by XF300 is in MXF format, which gives us very excellent video quality. However, one problem users often meet is, such MXF files cannot be edited in software on both Mac and windows, that is, you will find it is difficult to edit Canon XF300 MXF files in FCP/iMovie.

MXF format is not supported by FCP or iMovie natively. So editing XF300 MXF files in FCP can��t be done directly. Final Cut Pro best supported video format is Apple ProRes 422 codec MOV format, so does iMovie, it��s a good choice to transcode XF300 MXF footages to ProRes MOV for FCP X. Below is a guide for you to convert MXF video for FCP editing.

1.Load MXF files
After install and run the Canon XF300 MXF to Final Cut Pro Converter Mac, hit the ��Add Files�� button to import MXF file. You can also drag multiple files to the program directly


2.Choose output format
Apple ProRes MOV for FCP, FCE, and iMovie is one of the format this Canon XF300 MXF Converter Mac has optimized, you just need to choose the target application as output format, for example, ��Final Cut Pro��->��Apple ProRes 422(*.mov)��.


3.Convert Canon XF300 MXF to FCP
At last, hit the ��Convert�� button to transcode Canon XF300 to MOV for FCP. When finish converting, you can import Canon XF300 MXF footage to FCP to edit then.
