Often, when you want to look for a free HD player for viewing HD videos (TS, MTS and M2TS), there are usually many HD players for Windows but for Mac. Here I would like share with you the two free HD players for Mac:
VLC Player
VLC player is a totally free multimedia player, encoder and streamer supporting many audio and video codecs and files formats as well as DVDs and VCDs. In other words, VLC player can play a wide range of video and audio formats, far more than QuickTime and DVD player. And VLC is one of the most platform-independent players available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
Free download and run VLC media player on your Mac. Choose File ] Open File, and select your Video_TS folder. Then you can freely view your video now.

MPlayer
MPlayer is a free and open source media player available for all major operating systems, like Windows, Linux and Mac. MPlayer supports a wide variety of media formats, which has different optional GUI front-ends for each of its supported operating system. MPlayer OS X is binary distribution of MPlayer (The Movie Player for Linux) and comes with native GUI in Mac OS X. After installation you can easily play videos supported in window or full screen mode.

Hopefully this article will help you for playback AVCHD MTS/M2TS/TS files for free.
