This step-by-step tutorial will show you how to rip a DVD to iPod video MP4 or iPod audio M4A, MP3 on your Mac computer. After download and install DVD to iPod Converter for Mac on your Mac, you can follow the steps below to accomplish the conversion.
Step 1: Load DVD to the program
Insert DVD into your DVD-ROM, run DVD to iPod Converter for Mac, and then the DVD converter will load the DVD automatically.
You can also click the ""Add"" button to load DVD disc, DVD folder or DVD image (IFO file).
Step 2: Set the output format
After loading the DVD, choose the titles or chapters you want to rip, and then select the profile from the ""Profile"" drop-down list in the ""General"" tab on the right panel. Tip2: You can preview the source file via the built-in player in the preview window right below and also take a snapshot when previewing by clicking the ""Capture Frame"" button.
Tip3: If you just want to convert a segment of a video, you can use the ""Trim"" function.
Step 3: Set the output file destination and file name
You can click the ""Browse"" button to choose the path where you want to save the output files or just keep the default path; you can specify the output file name in the ""Output filename"" textbox.
Step 4: Start conversion
After everything is OK, click the ""Convert"" button to start ripping.
When the conversion is completed, you can click the ""Open"" button at the bottom of the main interface to browse the output files.
Step 5: Put the converted file on iPod
Start your iTunes, choose the converted file we have just got in the destination folder and drag it into iTunes. Then connect your iPod and add the file from iTunes library.
Tip: To put the file on iPod, you can also use Xilisoft iPod Rip for Mac which is specialized in iPod-computer transfer without iTunes.

Part 1: How to rip dvd
Step 0 ：Install and run 4Videosoft DVD Ripper Platinum
Step 1: Import DVD.
Place the DVD into your DVD drive and click the “Load DVD” button to load DVD.
Step 2: Video settings.
Select the output video format you want from the “Profile” drop-down list.
Step 3: Click “Open” button to open your output destination file.

Part 2: How to convert video
Preparation: Download and install 4Videosoft Video Converter Platinum
After you download it, double click the file and follow the set-up instruction to install it.
Step 1: After you finish the installation, the friendly user interface will appear on your desk. Click “Add File” to load your video sources.
Step 2: Set output video format
Click "Profile" button from the drop-down list to select the exact output video format that is the most suitable for your player. The "Trim" function also servers as a video splitter for you to get any time-length video episode. You can set the "Start Time" and "End Time" to set the exact time-length of the clip or you can directly drag the slide bar to the position you want.
4: How to join the videos
If you would like to put several files into one output file, please tick the check box of the “Merge into one file”.
5: How to save your favorite picture
If you like the current image when preview video, you can use the "Snapshot" option. Just click the "Snapshot" button, the image will be saved and you can click the "Open" button next to "Snapshot" button to open your picture.
