iMovie, part of iLife bundle stick on Mac, is famous known as a video editting tool. iMovie can edit high definition videos from camera and share on web like YouTube or play on iPod touch and so on. Also, you can follow this manual to edit video formats (MOV, FLV, WMV, MKV, AVI, VOB, MPEG, ASF) in iMovie.
And, how to import DVD into iMovie and create DVD clips into iMovie?
Here is a tip on how to import NON-Commercial DVD into iMovie.
# Open Disk Utility in Application.
# Select the disk and then select "New Image". Save the disk image to Mac.
# Open iMovie.
# Mount the new disk image. A "Camera Detected, Scanning Contents" window will appear in iMovie, followed by an import window. You can now import the DVD contents and start editing away.
But for Commercial DVDs, you can not import them into iMovie directly.
If you want to import commerciral DVD into iMovie, you need wondershare DVD Ripper for Mac to rip DVD to iMovie supported MP4 video, the Mac DVD Ripper can help you to make some clips from DVD to MP4 on Mac. It also can rip DVD to AVI, convert DVD to 3GP, and extract audio from DVD to MP3, etc. You can follow this guide to create DVD clips on Mac and convert DVD to iMovie MP4.
