I started off the season looking for a set of forgiving irons with some pop. I wanted to get something that would require less effort to swing. I really thought the TaylorMade Burner 2.0 Irons would be the ticket, but found them long but the distance control was too inconsistant. The Callaway RAZR X Irons work tremendously in that respect. The center of gravity is low so it is easy to get the ball up in the air.
I played these Razr X's with a + 1/2 in reg graphite shaft. When I swung very easy and made good contact these went dead straight. You can enjoy consistent, high ball speeds combine with stronger lofts (long irons strengthened by 2°, short irons by 1°) to produce shots that fly 5 yards longer on average than callaway x-22 irons for sale. The RAZR X was not the longest in the bunch, but, won hands down in the distance/accuracy department. Solid head design, with in my opinion, the best sole interaction with various lies I have ever found in a clubhead. You feel alot of confidence at address.
The stronger lofts on these irons allows me to swing smoother and that has given me both the accuracy and length that I have longed for on my Fusions and FTs. The RAZR X is a game-improvement iron that has a huge hitting area. Replacing the x-24 hot irons and X-22 in Callaway's line, each of the eight irons in the standard RAZR X set are made using a new variable face thickness technology, which makes the hitting area thinner as you move away from the center. This feature broadens the sweet spot and maintains ball speed on off-center hits.
RAZR Technology shifts the center of gravity 12% lower and 15% deeper by redistributing 30 grams of weight in the back cavity; providing the power and forgiveness of a wide-sole iron with the precision and playability of a thin-sole iron. The new technology allows you to swing smoothly and accurately. I like the grips Callaway used for these clubs.
The Callaway RAZR X irons are also good clubs I have found for windy conditions, keeps ball low and good distance gained about 20 yards on my drives without overswinging club. They feel great in your hands and the weighting gives you confidence to go after the ball. The lower irons are about the same distance as my older ones only higher flight as well more accurate. The high irons 5 and 4 I’m hitting very consistent and much farther.
