The 14.1-megapixel Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ45 features a 25mm wide-angle 24x optical zoom f/2.8-5.2 LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens. The 25mm wide-angle lens has about twice the shooting area of the standard 35mm lens. The powerful 24x optical zoom can be used both in still and motion picture recording. In my opinion, the most importan is that it can record HD movie in AVCHD Lite with high sound quality of Dolby Digital Stereo Creator.
The AVCHD Lite compression provides HD video in small file size, comparing to the Motion JPEG compression, but it's not ideal for edit on Mac OS X with FCP, iMovie, FCE or other video edit programs. To let you easily import FZ45 AVCHD Lite footages to Mac computer for further editing, pls download and install the excellent Panasonic AVCHD Lite Converter for Mac, which is the right Mac driver for transcoding Panasonic Lumix FZ45 AVCHD Lite 720p videos to ProRes or AIC MOV format.
Step 1: Run the best MTS/M2TS Converter on Mac and click the "Add" button to load the 720p .mts videos to it. Join several 720p AVCHD Lite into one, just check off the “Merge into one” box.
Step 2: Choose a decent output format as you need via hitting the Format bar.
1) For Final Cut Pro user, you can choose Final Cut Pro > “Apple ProRes 422 (*.mov)".
2) For iMovie/FCE users, iMovie and Final Cut Express> “Apple Intermediate Codec(AIC)(*.mov)" is the best choice.
Step 3: Click the Settings icon to adjust the video, audio parameters to get a best video for editing on your Mac tools. This smart Mac MTS Converter will rewrap 720p MTS videos to .mov keeping original 1280x720 resolution.
Step 4: Click the Convert button to start converting Panasonic Lumix FZ45 AVCHD Lite to MOV for Mac.
When the conversion ends, locate the output MOV video via clicking the Open button. Later, you can easily put Panasonic Lumix FZ45 videos to Mac for smooth editing with FCP/FCE/iMovie.
