TaylorMade counts a lot of clubs in its Burner series, including many iron sets. So what type of golfer is the target audience for the TaylorMade Burner Plus irons?
Toplines in the Burner 2.0 irons are substantial and strong in the long-irons, and grow progressively thinner down through the middle- and short-irons. All of the above promotes more distance in the taylormade burner 2.0 iron set while making them significantly easier to hit and more playable.
The club head has a relatively large sole on these taylormade burner plus irons, which is supposed to help players to launch the golf ball better. TaylorMade have included what is called Superfast Technology with these irons. One of the first things that we noticed was that the large club faces on these irons do help to inspire confidence at address. As mentioned, these TaylorMade irons were intended to be easy to hit, and they certainly are that.
While not being the most important factor that the majority of golfers would look for in an iron. The first time you try these irons on the course you could find yourself over-clubbing a lot. Forgiveness wise though the burner plus irons do perform reasonably well, admittedly the ball didn't always go where it was intended.
For the better players, these irons do offer a decent amount of workability when trying to manipulate the flight of shots. With regards to price thetaylor made burner plus irons are probably about what most people would expect for a fairly new set from a top manufacturer.
The taylormade burner plus iron set have the highest MOI of any irons in the TaylorMade stable, according to the company. In between is a thin clubface, significant perimeter weighting and a center of gravity very low and deep to help promote a high launch and trajectory.
Overall the Burner Plus irons could really benefit any level of golfer who would particularly like more distance in their iron play.
