I recently bought a Sony Handycam (DCR-DVD108) and frustratedly found that all my recorded videos by the camcorder are of mpg format which can not be directly imported to iMovie for editing. So I googled for a solution to convert Sony mpg videos to QuickTime format. After trying several video converters, I finally found the perfect tool to achieve quality-lossless and super fast conversion. The following is the step-by-step instruction of how to convert mpg files to QuickTime mov format.
Step 1: Download, launch Mac mpg converter and add mpg files to the app
Add mpg videos to the program by clicking "Add" button on the top menu bar. Batch conversion is also supported. What’s more, you are allowed to join all your mpg files to one output video by checking "Merge into one file".
Step 2: Choose MOV format and specify output folder
