I think you have been told to change your password after a period of time, no matter your Gmail password or Windows 7 password. The purpose of doing so is to strengthen the safety of your account or your computer, and prevent from other’s viewing to use

In the first place, I could tell you how to change Gmail password. You should click the gear icon in the upper right, and then select Settings. Next, you should open the Accounts and Import tab. In the “Change account settings” section, click Change password. In the new window, enter your current password and your new password. You see you have changed the password with success. As for the password you have changed, it should be a unique password which can help keep someone from breaking in to your account. I want to tell you that do not always use the same password; otherwise, it will be very possible to be cracked by the other people who had bad intentions.
Having told about changing Gmail password, next you could know something about Windows 7 password changing. If you want to change your password you use to log on to your computer, you can do like this: press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and then click Change a password. In the window, please type your old password, type your new password, type your new password again to confirm it, and then press ENTER. At last, your password will be changed and you should use the new one to log on from this point. You can keep your computer more secure by changing the password for Windows 7 regularly.
