Panasonic intensifies the battle for the top pocket digital camera with the Lumix LX7, a camera they've carefully improved with new external controls, Full HD 60p video, and an 11-frame-per-second still mode. If you have got one, you may want to edit its 1080p recordings in iMovie 11/9/8 and share it with your friends and family. But if you often edit AVCHD with iMovie, you should know that we eet some trouble sometimes when we put AVCHD .mts/.m2ts file into iMovie.
As you know, iMovie supports AIC (Apple InterMediate Codec) directly but refuse the importing of AVCHD from some Cameras. The most common explanation is both the container and codec of AVCHD are too difficult to handle. Then how to import Panasonic Lumix LX7 AVCHD to iMovie without any trouble? The best way is to get the a Panasonic AVCHD Converter for iMovie to transcode AVCHD to iMovie’s compatible format before importing on Mac.
Here I suggest you to use the professional MTS to iMovie Converter from Brorsoft. Because it has many functions and features:
1) Transcode AVCHD footages shot by Panasonic as well as Sony, Canon, Leica…
2) Convert AVCHD(.mts/.m2ts) to AIC, ProRes, DVCPRO, MOV, etc
3) Lossless merge/join MTS, M2TS files, AVCHD clips
4) Trim, crop and add special effects to AVCHD/AVCHD Lite
5) Works fast with best vide quality
Guide: Encoding AVCHD to AIC MOV for copying to iMovie with best quality.
Step 1: You can directly add AVCHD to the Mac AVCHD Converter from Panasonic Lumix LX7 or from local disc if you’ve moved MTS files to Mac.
Tip: If you wanna join MTS/M2TS files for easier editing on Mac, please check the "Merge into one" box.
Step 2: Click on Format --> Adobe Premiere Pro/Sony Vegas --> MPEG-2 (*.mpg) as output format.
Step 3: Click on Settings to adjust audio and video parameters including video size, video frame rate, bitrate, sample rate, audio channel.
Tip: For 1080/60p recordings, 1920*1080 video size, 30fps video frame rate are the most suitable settings. For 1080/50p videos, you are recommended to set 25fps as video frame rate.
Step 4: The last step comes to convert Panasonic LX7 AVCHD to AIC for iMovie via clicking the Convert button.
When conversion’s done, you will directly load the exported AIC to iMovie for special editing freely without quality loss.
Tips:
When you get the 2012 second-half new Panasonic Lumix cameras like Panasonic FZ200, FZ60(FZ62), this Mac AVCHD Converter will be your best choice to do the AVCHD conversion task.
