I got the new Camera D800 from Nikon last week, I know it shoots Full HD 1080p MOV video at 30/25/24p. But I don't know how to import its recordings to Final Cut Pro 7 for editing on Mac.
So, I went to Google and learned something about D800 and FCP 7. In fact, FCP 7 best supported video format is Apple ProRes 422 codec MOV format, so FCP 7 doesn’t support Nikon D800 MOV footages well. The best method to solve this problem is to convert D800 MOV footage to ProRes for editing in Final Cut Pro, you can follow the steps below to transcode D800 MOV to FCP 7 for editing.
