Shooting ease is aided by the convenient access to photographer-controlled settings as well as its impressive Vari-Angle LCD monitor. Adding to the fun of using the camera are numerous in-camera special effects modes, including in-camera High Dynamic Range(HDR) function. In addition, the D5100 offers Full-HD(1920 x 1080p/30p) movie capability. So, The D5100 digital SLR camera was selected for the Best D-SLR Entry Level Award on TIPA Awards 2012.
Such a powerfull digital SLR cameras, have you got one? If so, do you want to edit D5100 MOV footages in Adobe Premiere Pro? As, we know the MOV video format came from Nikon D5100 is a long GOP format that is highly compressed, it is not a good editing format for getting in Premiere Pro. So you will not edit smoothly the highly compressed MOV in Premiere Pro. As a Nikon D5100 user, I will share my solution to put or import D5100 MOV to Adobe Premiere for editing for Mac and Windows users.
Firstly, you need download a top MOV to Adobe Premiere Video Converter, I used Brorsoft Video Converter, it can help you to convert Nikon D5100 MOV to a compatible format quickly and easily for making editable in Premiere, here, I take it as an example. Please download the free trial Premiere Video Converter for Windows or MOV to Premiere Converter for Mac, and then just follow the bellow Guide.
Guide: Best setting for converting Nikon D5100 1080p MOV recordings to Adobe Premiere Pro with best video quality
Step 1: Launch MOV to Adobe Premiere Converter. You can tick the box in front of the file you want to convert.
Tip: If you have multiple 1080p MOV files you can tick the “Merge into one” box.
Step 2: Click the format box and you will get a drop-down list in which the last but one is what you need: Adobe Premiere/Sony Vegas> WMV(VC-1)(*wmv)/MPEG-2(*.mpg)/MOV(*.mov). Then you can set the output folder by clicking “Browse” icon as you prefer.
Step 3: Click the “Settings” icon and you will get a new interface named “Profile Settings”. You’d better set the video frame rate as 24fps, video size as 1920*1080 if you attach great importance to high quality and keep stereo channels to keep the best quality for copying Nikon D5100 MOV to Premiere.
Step 4: Click the “Convert” button; it will transcode Nikon D5100 MOV to Adobe Premiere. You can find the process in the “Conversion” interface.
