Panasonic HC-X900 High Definition Camcorder, a top-of-the-line HD camcorder from Panasonic, is developed with almost all the desirable features that photographers except, including 1920 x 1080/60p recording, clear 5.1-channel surround sound recording with Wind Noise cancelling function, 32GB of built-in memory, the ability to record in 3D (with optional 3D lens), and a 3-sensor 3MOS sensor system. With the amazing HC-X900, you can produce extravagant, detailed, beautiful images under almost any circumstances.

Besides its Advanced 3MOS System and Crystal Engine PRO II, HC-X900's 1080/60p recording (full HD, 1920 x 1080, 60 progressive recording), which conveys about twice the information of 1,080i (interlace) recording, with its transfer rate of 28 Mbps is another important temptation. With it, you can record all the beautiful scenes and adventures furing your journey until you want to edit HC-X900 AVCHD files in FCP and you will get the incompatiblem notice, though you have tried Log and Transfer.

To some extent, the problem is quite easy to solve if you get a great converter and it can convert HC-X900 AVCHD Recordings to ProRes, the compatible video format of FCP. After googling or yahooing, you will get a lot of options. And here highly recommend the top AVCHD to FCP Converter, the Brorsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac, which can not only transcode HC-X900 1080p MTS/M2TS to ProRes for FCP with original quality, but also provide you with useful editing features, including merging several videos into one file, deinterlacing the original footages, cropping video size, trimming video clips, adding special effects and text/image/video watermarks to output videos.

Now, you can follow the steps and import HC-X900 AVCHD shootings to FCP.

Step 1: Import Panasonic HC-X900 AVCHD 1080p files to the best AVCHD to FCP Converter for Mac.
Luanch the MTS to FCP Converter and click the button “File” to add the MTS/M2TS files to it. You can double click the videos to have a preview.
Tips: If you want to merge AVCHD files, just need to check the “Merge into one” box.

Step 2: Select an output format for FCP and set the output folder.
Click on the “Format” and get the dropdown menu, then move you pointer to “Final Cut Pro”. Under the sub list are there a few formats which are all compatible with FCP. Here we recommend the Apple PreRes 422(HQ) if you give the priority to the quality of the converted videos. Then you can set the output folder by clicking “Browse” icon as you need.
Note: If you want the files to be in smaller size, you can follow Final Cut Pro>Apple ProRes 422(LT)(*mov)/Apple ProRes 422(*mov) option. If your files size is at SD levels, you are advised to choose Final Cut Pro>Apple ProRes 422(Proxy)(*mov), which is recommended for 480i/p and 576i/p shootings as well.

Step 3: Click “Settings” icon to adjust audio and video parameters.
Click the “Settings” icon and you will go into a new interface named “Profile Settings”. You can adjust codec, bit rate, frame rate, sample rate and audio channel in the interface according to your needs and optimize the output file quality.
Note: You’d better set the video frame rate as 30fps, video size as 1920*1080 to keep the best quality for editing in Final Cut Pro. If you want to have a smaller file size but keep the good quality, you can change the video size to 1440*1080.
