While converting DVD to AVI, it's always encoded by DivX codecs. As the first technology to compress DVD into its original size or even smaller while maintaining its high quality, the major merit of AVI format is that it supports multiple devices such as BlackBerry, Windows Media Player, archos, iRiver etc. Now the problem is how to rip DVD to AVI for these players. 2.From the drop-down list of "Profile" in the "General" panel, navigate to the "AVI-Audio-Video Interleaved (*.avi)" category. From the sub-category, you can choose the most appropriate output format.
