Harrow is an ex-soldier who had half his face blown off in the First World War. He now wears a half-mask and is naturally shy about it, especially around women. He must also have lost half his vocal cords, and speaks in a gentle croak, which makes him, in Jack Huston's performance, very sympathetic.boardwalk empire dvd
