Producers confirm Asha name change
Fans of the books will remember that a scene in Season 1 – featuring Catelyn Stark Game of Thrones Season 1 dvd(Michelle Fairley) confronting prisoner Jamie Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) about Bran’s fall, actually occurs in George’s second book. Winter Is Coming: Although I’m not sure a name change is necessary, I am fine if they want to do it. But please don’t change it to Yara. It sounds like the name of an old crone. Plus it is close to Arya. I suggested Ashara as an alternative which could be seen as a nice bit of fan service, assuming Ashara Dayne doesn’t get mentioned in the show, to give her name to another strong female character.
