How to import Canon XF100 MXF files to FCP X for editing on Mac Lion?
Q: I have a lovely new Canon XF100 and it generate MXF Files. However when i tried to import these HD MXF videos to FCP X for editing, the iSight runs when i click the camcorder button on FCP X. After searching and consulting,I noticed that there is Canon XF plugin for FCP7, but Canon XF plugin doesn't work for FCP X.
Do you meet the similiar trouble? Canon's XF100 HD Professional Camcorder take advantage of the latest HD technology with Full HD 1920x1080 resolution, up to a 50Mbps bit rate and 4:2:2 color sampling. But why do you meet trouble when import Canon XF100 files to FCP X for editing to get better effect and how to edit on Mac Lion?
In fact FCP X can’t recognize the MXF files, so you need to convert Canon XF100 files to FCP X surpported video format with a Mac Canon XF100 MXF to FCP X Converter. Bellow is the best way for you.
Step 1: Import Canon XF100 MXF files to the best Mac Canon XF100 MXF to FCP X Converter.

If the 60i/30fps is your original frame rate, you’d better set the video frame rate as 30fps; if you shoot with 50i/25fps, you’d better set the 25fps as the frame rate. If you want to have a smaller file size but keep the good quality, you can change the video size to 1440*1080.
Step 4: Start converting your Canon XF100 1080p MXF files to Apple ProRes for FCP X on Mac.
Click the “Convert” button; it will transcode/convert Canon XF100 MXF files to Apple ProRes for FCP X on Mac immediately. You can find the process in the “Conversion” interface.
Now, you can transfer the converted/merged Canon XF100 MXF files to FCP X for editing on Mac Lion. Hope you have a good time!
