What shocking behavior. At the end of Episode Three,boardwalk empire box set our baby-faced friend Jimmy had run out on his fiancée and child. After getting sacked and humiliated by Nucky, he has fled to Chicago and is already in the bed of an equally baby-faced hooker named Pearl. Al Capone is there, too, helping manage the local liquor and whore business. It's clear, though, that he's a bit of a good-natured sociopath, and we see the shapes of the violence to come. In the end, Al's headstrong behavior offends some competing gangsters and poor Pearl takes the brunt with her peachy pink face. Ouch.boardwalk empire dvd
Back in Atlantic City it's Nucky’s birthday, and Margaret arrives, impressing some politician guests with her wit and awareness. It's also clear that there's romantic interest there, which will doubtless lead to a complicated situation. Lucky Luciano is in town looking for Jimmy, and another woman (his lovely mother), is set to play sacrificial victim for him as well.boardwalk empire season 1 dvd Finally, my darling Chalky (above) takes his daddy's carving tools to a Klansman to dig out the truth about that lynching from last week. I shouldn't be condoning torture, but I couldn't help cheering him on.
And everyone's looking especially fine this Sunday evening. Nucky is in his most celebratory colors, Chalky in bold sage plaid. The two youngins in Chicago treat themselves to new suits to enforce negotiation abilities. And, damn, they look good – great examples of how totally different figures can look amazing in the same cut of suit. And the good news is that the suits are totally modern — you can pull these looks straight from the rack today with ease. The hard part? A vest.
