I have lots of AVI films which are from online and bluray rips. I have copies them to my nook tablet, however, my nook tablet can't play these AVI videos. I wonder is there some tips given by someone to help me flawlessly enjoy these AVI files on my Nook Tablet. It is very importtant for me.
As we know, AVI is a containder format just like MKV. It can contain multiple video and audio tracks which makes it complex that no media player can handle all avi videos. Barnes & Noble has provided a "Supported Media Types on Nook Tablets" sheet to detail playable video and audio formats for the Andriod Slate, And we can find AVI is not there. After some Google search I managed to find a Nook Tablet solution- convert .avi before transferring the videos to Nook Tablet.
There are many programs out there allow us to make avi conversion for Nook Tablet. A recommended one is Pavtube Video Converter. I recommend this one because I tried four video encoders and it is the only one that converts h.264 video without sync issues. Better yet, it lets me save my settings as a custom format. Below is a guide whcih will show an easy solution on how to put and watch your DivX and AVI videos on the Nook Tablet by converting the DivX AVI files to H.264 MP4 for Nook Tablet with best HD video quality using the Video to Nook Tablet Converter. The process is straightforward. Install and run the application, then load Divx AVI movies to the best AVI Video Converter for Nook Tablet, then click on the "Format" bar, find "Android" category and select the "Nook Color (*.mp4)" profile. After everything's set down, click the big "Convert" button to start the conversion from AVI files to H.264 mp4 video for Nook Tablet.
Tips:
To adjust parameters that affect video quality and file size for the video you prefer, just click on "Settings" you could easily set bitrate, frame rate, codec, channels, sample rate. I find that bitrate higher results in big file size, and lower visible quality loss. After that, you can click on "Save as" to rename the profile, such as "Nook tablet (*.mp4)". Next time, you can easily find it in "Custom" category.
