A VOB file (Video Object) is a container format in DVD-Video media. On the DVD, all the content for one title set (VTS) is contiguous, but broken up into 1 GiB VOB files in the computer compatible file systems for the convenience of the various operating systems. Each VOB file must be less than or equal to one GiB. Therefore sometimes some VOB files will be too big for us to upload to YouTube. Since FLV format has pretty small file size and fast upload speed, we could convert VOB files to YouTube FLV format for uploading.
To convert VOB to FLV for YouTube uploading, we could take advantage of some professional and easy-to-use software, such as Total Video Converter. For Mac user: Video Converter for Mac
Step 1: Click button "Add File" to add the VOB video files you want to convert.
Step 2: You can specify the output format, and set the output destination at the bottom of the main interface.
Tip:
If you need, you can click button "Settings" to set the output parameters.
Step 3: Select a video and use "Effect", "Trim", or "Crop" button on the tool bar to edit videos as you like.

If you want to convert several VOB clips consecutively into one whole FLV file, you can select the VOB clips you would like to merge and then click the "Merge" button. The merged file will be listed in the file list immediately.
Step 4: Click button "Convert" to start converting VOB format to FLV format. It will show you the converting progress window and you can check "Shut down computer when conversion completed" or "Open output folder when conversion completed" there.
