The Way Transferring and Playing iTunes videos on Microsoft Surface RT/Pro Tablet
Summary: This article mainly tells how to sync and play iTunes movies on Microsoft Surface RT/Pro Tablet by stripping DRM from iTunes and converting iTunes videos to Microsoft Surface supported video formats.
Featuring a 10.6-inch ClearType HD display, both Microsoft Surface Windows RT and Windows 8 Pro Tablet can bring you brand-new visual perception. If you have some videos in your iTunes library, you want to transfer them to your Surface Tablet for playback. However, something goes wrong when you tried to sync and play iTunes movies on Surface RT or Surface Pro Tablet. Don't fret! Here I'm sharing my experience to help those who feel like transferring movies from iTunes to Microsoft Surface Tablet for playback.
As we know, movies purchased from iTunes store are locked by Apple DRM protection and can only play on Apple products like iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, QuickTime, etc. In order to watch iTunes video on Surface RT or Pro Tablet, you have to remove DRM from iTunes movies and convert iTunes movies to Surface compatible video formats.
To get the work done, we'll need to get a DRM removing tool. If you are interested in doing this likewise and looking for ease-to-use, check out Pavtube's ChewTune, a top iTunes Movie DRM Decoder which can easily handle iTunes DRM-protected videos and Windows Media DRM contents included with the Blu-ray/DVD Digital Copies. And the playback of the converted videos is as decent as possible as original. Now follow the steps below to convert and put iTunes videos onto Surface RT or Pro Tablet.
Guide - How to Convert and Sync iTunes movies to Microsoft Surface Tablets
Note: For Windows users, just follow the detailed guide to finish your work about converting iTunes movies to Surface Tablet. For Mac users, you can follow the iTunes m4v Converter for Mac to finish your work on Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Mac OS X Lion etc.
Step 1. Free download and run the excellent iTunes to Microsoft Surface Converter and import your iTunes files (movies or TV shows) to the program.
Step 2. Choose the output video format and output folder
Now click "Format" bar and move mouse to "Windows" column, you can easily find the profile of "Microsoft Surface Windows RT H.264 Video (*.mp4)". The output videos could fit on Surface RT or Pro perfectly. If you like, you can click "Settings" to change the video encoder, resolution, frame rate, etc. as you wish.
P.S. The supported resolution of Surface Tablets goes up to 1080p, though video playback and most apps never break out of 720p. For watching videos on the Surface Pro and RT Tablet, 720p with 1500~2000kbps is just all right. I find that bitrate higher results in big file size, and lower visible quality loss.
Step 3. After above steps, just click "Convert" to start removing iTunes DRM protection and converting iTunes M4V to Microsoft Surface MP4 videos.
Once the process completes, download and transfer DRM-free iTunes videos to your Microsoft Surface via USB cable. Then you are free to enjoy and watch iTunes movies on Microsoft Surface RT/Pro Tablet as you like.
