Windows Media Center is an application with a 10-foot user interface designed to serve as a home-entertainment hub for living-room TV. It is included in Windows XP Media Center Editor, which must be installed as an operating system, as the application cannot be added to an existing installation of XP. It is also installed in premium editions of Windows Vista (Vista Home Premium and Vista Ultimate) and Windows 7 (all editions, except Starter and Home Basic). It can play the computer user’s pictures, videos and music from local drives, optical drives and network locations.
However, not all video file formats are supported by Windows Media Center. The video file types supported by Windows Media Center are listed as below (additional file formats might be supported if you install new codecs):
Video file types (format) File name extensions
Windows Media file .wm and .asf
Windows Media Video file .wmv
Windows video file .avi
Microsoft Recorded TV Show file .dvr-ms
Movie file .mpeg, .mpg, .mpe, .m1v, .mp2, and .mpv2
So what if we want to play multiple AVCHD recordings from HD camcorders? Sure we do. But first of all, we need an AVCHD converter to convert AVCHD MTS/M2TS videos to Windows Media Center compatible video format. What would be a plus is that the MTS/M2TS converter could works as an mts joiner to merge/combine multiple mts/m2ts files to one single output. No exaggeration, but Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter offers the best solution for us.

Step 3: Choose output format
