Why doesn't FCP X recognize 1080 50i/60i .mxf files on Mac?

Canon, Sony and Panasonic high-end camcorders can record .MXF videos, they may be 1080 50p/60p clips or 50i/60i fooatges, as many users have 50i/60i problems when using mxf files with final cut pro x, this article will help you to solve FCP X with 50i/60i problems on MXF files.

Problem:

Since I have a P2 camera, .mxf is a familiar sight so I tried that one. L&T doesn't recognize anything about it, so that's a no-go. The only reliable workflow I've found so far is to transcode the .mxf files to ProRes. Okay, that works, but is that the only one of these that'll work with FCP X? Quicktime format seemed like a no-brainer. Why won't it open and/or play? I've Googled and Googled and have found plenty of people asking this question but no useful answers so far. And why doesn't FCP X recognize these 1080 50i/60i .mxf files?

Reason:

1080 50i/60i MXF files are not supported by Final Cut Pro X mainly because of the codec. As far as we know, the perfectly supported codec for FCP X is Apple ProRes, so you need to convert 1080 50i/60i MXF files to ProRes before you ingest the 1080 50i/60i mxf files to FCP X. Here recommended the best 1080 50i/60i files to Apple ProRes Converter on Mac, which is also compatible with Mac OS Lion. With it, you can not only deinterlace and convert 1080 50i/60i MXF files to Apple ProRes for FCP X on Mac, but also edit your MXF files, such as cropping video size, trimming video clips, adding special effects and text/image/video watermarks to output videos, thus it will be on the top of your list.

Click on the "Format" and get the dropdown menu, then move you pointer to "Final Cut Pro". Under the sub list are there a few formats which are all compatible with FCP X. Note: If you want the files to be in smaller size, you can follow "Final Cut Pro > Apple ProRes 422(LT)(*mov)". If your files size is at SD levels, you are advised to choose Final Cut Pro>Apple ProRes 422(Proxy)(*mov), which is recommended for 480i/p and 576i/p shootings as well.
