Mizuno has released an update of that "player's cavity." Using some input from Ryder Cup hero Luke Donald, they have released their new MP-64 irons. Like all MP irons the stock shafts are steel, and many steel and graphite shaft options are available. In contrast to the MP-H4, the MP-64 is just what golfers might expect from Mizuno: forged irons created to please highly skilled golfers.

According to Couch, they really built this golf club for Luke Donald who is switching from the mizuno mp-59 irons uk to the MP-64. Luke Donald has just put these in his bag thanks to their traditional look and superb, soft feel out of the middle. They are targeted at low-handicap golfers with its "player's cavity" design. That means that while these are player's clubs, the forged clubheads do have cavities for increased playability.

Unlike the mizuno mp-63 irons online, these forged cavity-backs feature softer leading and trailing edges, designed to flow through turf with less friction and resistance. Another modification is to the sole. Mizuno engineers have beveled off parts of the heel and toe for better movement through different lies. The MP-64 has a sole that is beveled and softened for accurate turf contact without digging. It has a full-diamond muscle back within a shallow-back cavity. They also have the same soft feel usually associated with forged irons.

Right throughout the set the trajectory was excellent and the MP-64s were pretty forgiving for a better players' iron. The longer irons were not as intimidating as others in this category, but the short irons disappointed slightly with their oversized profile. In the mid- and short irons, the cavity is shallower to put more focus on control and workability. The Mizuno MP-64 Irons are the latest grain flow forged irons in the Mizuno range developed with the input of Mizuno tour professionals including Luke Donald who put them straight in his bag.

They just feel amazing and the flight is fantastic with a tight dispersion. What they do give you is superb playability, feel, consistency and feedback. These can be combined with the new H4 irons as a long iron replacements if you struggle with the long irons, which give extra forgiveness and higher launch. Looking back we feel that Mizuno have combined the peripheral weighting from the best price golf clubs MP-62 irons with the diamond back cavity of the Mizuno MP-63 irons and we think this works well.
