Sony NEX-6 comes with a lens kit as well (16mm to 50mm). This looks set to be an entry level DSLR shooter with a 16.1-megapixel sensor, sporting built-in Wi-Fi connectivity to deliver optimal sharing of images compatible devices. If you thought that the NEX-7’s 24MP APS-C sensor was too huge and it produced too much noise, apparently that is an issue that will be addressed with the NEX-6. It is expected to offer better noise control and will come with a 16MP APS-C sensor which is apparently different from the one in the NEX-C3 and the NEX-5R.
The Sony NEX-6 users will be glad to find that they can record 1080 60p/60i/24p AVCHD and can connect the camera to a HDTV via a HDMI cable for playback. But almost at the same time, they will be disappointed with the incompatibility of the Sony NEX-6 AVCHD and iMovie.
So in order to transfer 60p MTS/M2TS files from Sony NEX-6 to iMovie, the best method is to convert AVCHD to AIC MOV, which is the friendly video format with Mac and iMovie. Right, a program named Brorsoft MTS Converter for Mac is the recommended software to solve this problem with the least loss of original video quality.
Step 2: Click on Format --> iMovie and Final Cut Express --> Apple Intermediate Codec(AIC) (*.mov) as output format.
Step 3: Click on Settings to adjust audio and video parameters including video size, video frame rate, bitrate, sample rate, audio channel. For 1080/60p recordings, 1920*1080 video size, 30fps video frame rate are the most suitable settings.
When the conversion process shows in 100%, please go to the main interface and tap the Open button to get the resulted video. You can directly imported the exported AIC to iMovie for editing freely without quality loss.
Tip:
If you shot 1080 60i AVCHD files with Sony NEX-6, you’d better deinterlace 1080i AVCHD for iMovie with above recommended Mac AVCHD convert app.
