However, if you get a Sony Alpha NEX-6 camcorder and want to edit the AVCHD files on Mac with iMovie, you will meet the "incompatible format" errors. First, you need to know that AVCHD is not the friendly video format with Mac and iMovie, but the Apple Intermediate Codec(AIC) with MOV format is. So in order to transfer 60p MTS/M2TS files from Sony NEX-6 to iMovie, I advice you to change AVCHD(MTS/M2TS) to AIC MOV for your Mac.
