Recently, all my friends around are talking about iPad Mini, it is another big hit device for Apple. It can play video up to 1080p resolution, 30 frames per second in H.264 and Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second. It will also play MPEG-4 video up to 640 by 480 pixels. Wow... I think it must be more suitable for us to watch videos or movies on a long boring trip, isn’t it? But , like the iPad 2/iPad 3, new iPad Mini has the file format limit- it can only natively support MOV, M4V, MP4 video encoded in H.264/MPEG-4. Plus, although iPad Mini supports full HF 1080p video but it limited to H.264 encoded files. So if you want to make it play any videos ,you need to resolve the incompatibility issue first.
The quickest and easiest way to encode any HD video for iPad Mini is to use the best iPad Mini video converter. Brorsoft Quickest iPad Mini Video Converter is a great help, with it you can produce a video that is playable and looks great. While, if you want to get a smaller file size and HD video, you can do the video/audio settings.
Step 1. Run the excellent video converter for iPad Mini and then load your video files to it up to 1080p files.
Step 2. Press the Format button and select iPad > iPad HD Video(*.mp4) as the export format.
Step 3. Click the Setting icon to modify the video, audio settings.
Reset the Video Bitrate:
The stock setting is the video bitrate is 4000 Kbps, which produces larger than necessary files sizes for great looking HD video on the storage limited iPad Mini. So according our tests, 3000kbs video bitrate is proper, which will cut the size your encoded file to about 75% of the original one. And the video will still look great on your Mini. You could use a lower Bit Rate, to a minimum of 1500 Kbps (1.5Mbps), for further file size reduction.
Resize the Video Size:
The iPad Mini's maximum display resolution is 1024-by-768-pixels so in order to play a 1280x720 video the iPad has to downscale it. So, you’d better resize the video size as 1024*768 to exactly fit the resolution of the iPad Mini.
Step 4. Start converting videos to iPad Mini with the best format/settings for iPad Mini via tapping the Convert button. After the conversion, just add video files to your iPad Mini.
