Import/Convert Canon XF300 MXF to iMovie for editing on Mac
Canon high-definition camcorders are very popular among the fans, the video quality is excellent, Canon continues to innovate and develop image acquisition products for the most demanding professional.Canon XF series camcorders is hot, such as XF300, now you want to edit XF300 MXF videos in iMovie on Mac, but imovie can’t import MXF files. There is a solution, of course, to help you transfer MXF footage to imovie. The next few steps will show you how to do with Canon MXF shootings (taken with Canon XF100, XF300, or XF300) before importing the Canon XF footage to imovie.
Before processing, you’re suggested to
1. Transfer mxf clips from Canon XF 300 camcorderto Mac computer.
2. Download and Install Pavtube MXF Converter for Mac.

Step 1. Launch the Pavtube Mac MXF to imovie Converter. Click “Add” and browse to a Canon .mxf clip and the software will add it to file list. Repeat the operation to load multiple .mxf videos.
Step 3. Click “Convert” to start converting Canon XF300 MXF to Apple Intermediate Codec videos for imovie.
After conversion click “Open” to find .mov videos and import converted .mov files to imovie for editing.
Tip 1: You can click “Settings” and adjust bitrate (from 1Mbps to 20Mbps) your requirement. You can also set a different video resolution (1920×1080/1440×1080/1280×720/720×480) and frame rate(24p/30p) as long as you like.
