Nikon��s newest full-frame camera D600 is aimed squarely at advanced amateurs who lust after an FX sensor, but don��t need all of the advanced features of the more expensive D800 or D4. It features a 24-megapixel CMOS sensor and can fire off full-resolution shots at an impressive 5.5 frames per second. Its ISO sensitivity ranges from 100 through 6400, but you can go as low as 50 or as high as 25600 in expanded mode.
The Nikon D600 recorded video is supported at up to 1080p30 or 720p60 in H.264 QuickTime format. It is a pity that H.264 MOV is not good editing format for some NLEs, like Final Cut Pro 6/7. So some users use Log and Transfer (Capture) to to import H.264 MOV recordings to FCP 6/7 for editing. The L&T is a transfer tool to help you transcode H.264 to a native codec like ProRes for FCP. But it often confuse the codecs, which can lead to the incompatible results. Thus, some users will meet the unsupported format issus when they importing. Note: FCP 6 only has the two types of ProRes 422 and ProRes 422 (HQ) codecs.
