How To Use iCloud to sync movies| A New User Guide
What does iCloud offer for movie streaming
What is iCloud? What does iCloud offer?
In short, iCloud is a catchall phrase that covers Apple’s entire suite of wireless sync and backup services, which aim to keep your devices—both iOS, and desktop computers running OS X Lion, Windows Vista, or Windows 7—on the same page, no matter which one you’re using at any given moment. It stores your music, photos, apps, calendars, documents, and more on remote computer servers. And wirelessly pushes them to all your devices. But it will also offer document storage, photo storage, purchase management, location awareness, and mobile backup for iOS devices.
How about iCloud for accessing iTunes movies and TV shows?
It works for photos very nicely, but because videos are so much larger than their single-framed brethren the uploading/downloading process is nowhere near as quick, and cloud storage space is also an issue.
All base iCloud accounts (which come with full sync features, backup, and 5GB of storage) are free. If you want to upgrade your storage or pay for Apple’s iTunes Match feature, you can pay a yearly fee. Uploading videos to a service like iCloud and then downloading them to your other devices is not a good solution, unless you upgrade storage to 25GB or 55GB($100/year).
Of course, you may also sync local movies to iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch device from iTunes using USB connection. This takes more time, but when you put local movies to iPad, you can view them whenever and wherever you like. With proper Blu-ray Ripper app, even DVDs and Blu-rays can be ripped off and put onto iPad. Read more iPad video solutions at iPad Video Specials.
