Canon new HD Professional Camera XF105 records full HD video to affordable Compact Flash(CF) cards, making it as versatile as it is powerful. A newly developed Genuine Canon 10x HD video lens resolves images onto a native 1920 x 1080 CMOS sensor, which wraps in industry-standard MXF file using your choice of bit rate (up to 50Mbps), resolution, and frame rate. Although Canon try to ensure the widest compatibility with existing industry infrastructure and non-linear editing (NLE), there still a long way to go. The XF Utilities can not help all the XF105 users to import 1080i MXF to FCP for editing without any trouble on Mac.
In fact, FCP's favourite codec is MOV Apple ProRes 422, thus, you only do to convert Canon XF105 1080i MXF to FCP MOV Apple ProRes format on Mac with a top trird Mac MXF Covnerter Tool for FCP from Google. Tips:
1. If you want to merge MXF files, just need to check the “Merge into one” box.

Step 2: Click on the “Format” and get the dropdown menu, then move you pointer to “Final Cut Pro”. Choose the Apple PreRes 422(HQ). Then you can set the output folder by clicking “Browse” icon as you need.

Step 3: Click the “Settings” icon and you will go into a new interface named “Profile Settings”. Set the video frame rate as 30fps, video size as 1920*1080 to keep the best quality for editing in Final Cut Pro, If the 60i/30fps is your original frame rate.
Note: Please click Edit and then you can transfer and deinterlace Canon XF105 1080i MXF files in the Video Editor.
Step 4: Click the “Convert” button; it will transcode XF105 1080i MXF files to ProRes for editing in FCP on Mac immediately. You can find the process in the “Conversion” interface.
When the fast MXF to ProRes conversion is 100% completed, you will be able to get the export files for FCP by clicking on “import” button effortlessly, no need to go to the Log and Transfer. Now you can copy and edit XF105 1080i MXF footages in FCP. Hope have a good time!
