It is a pity that the bundled Panasonic HD Writer AE 2.1 is only for Windows. However, we can use iMovie to edit HD videos, and then create and burn DVD with iDVD. While some of the Panasonic TM700 videos could be loaded to iMovie, there are still some videos recorded in 1080/60p or 108050p with 28Mbps could not be recognized by iMovie 8 and iMovie 9.

Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac is the recommended TM700 to iMovie converter on Mac OS to make the HD videos editable in iMovie. The Mac Panasonic AVCHD converter supports loading 1080/60p and 1080/50p TM700 .mts files and converting videos to iMovie compatible format.

The step-by-step guide below shows you how to convert Panasonic HDC-TM700K 1080/60p and 1080/50p .mts videos to H.264 .mov for iMovie and then burn a DVD disc with iDVD on Mac Snow Leopard.

Step 1. Load Panasonic TM700 videos to Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac.
Transfer the .mts files from Panasonic TM700 SD memory card to Apple hard drive disk, and run Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac as the first-class Mac Panasonic 1080/60p AVCHD converter, and click the "Add" button to load the .mts videos.

Step 2. Choose H.264 MOV output format.
Click the "Format" option, and navigate the mouse cursor to Adobe Premiere/Sony Vegas > MOV (AVC)(*.mov), and the Mac Panasonic AVCHD converter will transcode 1080/60p MTS videos to 1080/30p MOV with H.264 as video codec.

Step 3. Convert Panasonic TM700 video to iMovie MOV.
Click the convert button under the preview window, and the conversion from TM700 1080/60p 28Mbps MTS to MOV for iMovie will start in a few seconds.

Step 4. Load Panasonic HD videos to iMovie.
After the conversion, create a project in iMovie and import videos for editing. You can trim video and audio clips, add captions and titles, add narration and transitions, and create scrolling credits for the end of the movie. You can even add chapter markers for iDVD to create scene selection menus by choosing iMovie > Preferences > General, and making sure "Show Advanced Tools" is selected.

Step 5. Load iMovie videos to iDVD.
Share the movies with iDVD, and burn to a DVD. Just insert a blank DVD-R or DVD+R DL (Double Layer) disc to DVD drive and start the burning process.

Tips:
1. After choosing the format in Step 2 with the Mac Panasonic TM700 to iMovie/iDVD converter, you can also change the output frame rate from 30 fps to 24 fps, or other value you like. The video bit rate will be changed to lower than 28Mbps, and you can customize the output video bit rate if you like. You just need to click the "Settings" button to change the parameters.

2. The standard specifications for DVD disc movies in NTSC mode: 720x480 for frame size and 29.97fps for frame rate. iDVD will burn a standard DVD and the image quality will be poor comparing to the original TM700 1920x1080 HD video.
