The design goal of the MP-63 was to take the profile attributes of the MP-62 which were so successful on the world's tours and create an improvement in both feel and versatility. The legendary golf clubs au Forging process combines with an innovative Diamond Muscle design to create the perfect blend of feel and control in a player's cavity.

I am not among those who always run after the latest golf clubs, so for Mizuno clubs I haven't hit the Mizuno MP-69 Irons but give my heart to the 63 Irons. I am glad that I have the opportunity to try them from my friends and get them. The feel is great, the accuracy is amazing and the fit and finish is nothing other than superb. Looking down, and addressing the ball with this club instantly gives me the confidence to shape any type of shot I need.

They feature a diamond back cavity for a touch of forgiveness but also to provide better feel through what Mizuno call Harmonic Impact Technology (HIT), which is essentially how the club vibrates at impact. They've got a really low ball flight but the distances are very consistent. It's very workable and only the Mizuno MP-68 Irons surpass it. Small head like a blade with the diamond cavity. When struck nicely, these irons feel like butter. I will not be trading in these 63's for many years to come.

I also like the blade style look from the top line, I just like a real traditional look and these have that. I have only played a handful of rounds so far with these, but the mishits still travel most of the distance which is not the case with a set of traditional blades, so I would say they have a fair amount of forgiveness. I could hit a high soft 135 yard fade with a 9 iron and also could put it back in my stance and hit a 155 yard digging bullet. I found this to be true with all the clubs.

The sole of the Mizuno MP-63 Irons set is shaved on the back edge to help with the turf interaction and the diamond muscle behind the face seems dead on as far as feel goes. The size of the head is perfect, not too big and not too small. The double nickel chrome finish of the club lets you know you're holding one of the best irons in golf. They will make you a better iron player because of the control they give you. When hit solid they are butter and if you miss one they let you know it.
