How To burn Sony Handycam MTS files to Standard DVD with Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6
Most HD (High-definition) digital camcorders produce MTS extension files, especially for Sony Handy cams. MTS files are AVCHD videos with perfect video quality, but not so widely accepted by editing software and media players as common video formats like MPEG, WMV and AVI. Besides, the MTS files must be burned to HD DVD or blu-ray disc to obtain the original HD quality (usually 1920*1080). Even if you find some trick to burn the MTS files onto standard DVD, it will turns out with degraded image and slow motion. In a word, you can not enjoy the HD effect unless the MTS files are burned onto HD DVD or blu-ray disc. Taking the cost of HD DVD and blu-ray disc into consideration, it is acceptable to burn the HD footages to DVD with a little quality degradation but fluent motion. As the source MTS files are HD video and is usually with AC3 5.1 audio, you retain the 5.1 audio by adjusting the audio bitrate to 224000bps, and select 5.1 Channles in drop-down list of Channels box.
Step 4: Click "Convert" button to start conversion
The following window will show you clearly about the conversion information, which will help you to manage your time and storage space in a proper way. If you do not want to wait for the whole conversion process through, you can choose "Shut down computer after conversion" to leave it alone. After conversion completed you can click on "Open" button in the main interface to get the generated files.
