Compress Blu-ray to Apple TV 3 supported 1080p video with both AC3 5.1 and AAC stereo
Other than watching 1080p HD movies and TV shows from iTunes, it's great to watch your purchased Blu-ray titles on your wide screen TV through the new Apple TV 3rd Generation with Full HD 1080p quality. If you have a very expensive surround system and definitely want to watch Blu-ray movies in 5.1,you need a Blu-ray to Apple TV 3 Converter to help you rip movies to 1080p video for Apple TV 3 with ac3 5.1 sounds (Dolby Digital 5.1 pass-through). Apple TV 3 itself can not play 5.1 audio directly, it needs the receiver in your surround system to decode the 5.1 audio into six channels and distribute them to six speakers. So really, the Apple TV 3 doesn't need to decode 5.1 audio, it only needs to hand the surround audio stream to a receiver than can decode those formats.
Read a detailed guide on how to convert Blu-ray to Apple TV 3 supported 1080p video with Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound pass-through.
Required software:
Pavtube Blu-ray to Apple TV 3 Converter
Step 1: Launch Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper for Apple TV 3rd Gen, and load your Blu-ray source files to the program via clicking Blu-ray disc icon in the upper left corner of the main interface. When the movie files are loaded, simply tick off the checkbox before the movie title you want to rip for Apple TV 3 Gen.
Step 2: Choose "Apple TV 3 Dolby Digital Pass-through (*.m4v)" preset as output
